DESCRIPTION:The Topeka Gem and Mineral Society will be hosting their annual Gem and Mineral show October 11th and 12th. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Saturday\, October 11th- 10am-6pm Sunday\, October 12th- 10am-5pm Cash at the door.\n\nAdults- $6 (or $5 with a coupon)\nStudents (aged 13-17)- $2\nChildren 12 and under- FREE\n\nThere will be door prizes\, silent auctions\, raffle\, and for those who are rockhounds (big and small) there will be plenty of rocks to bid on. Club members will be giving demonstrations on jewelry making and cutting and polishing stones. Kids will enjoy activities like jewelry making and more. Awesome Brad will be there to engage the kids (and adults) as he shows off his collection of rocks talking about and demonstrating their scientific uses to man\, amazing properties\, and beauty. Vendors will be there to sell their rocks\, cabochons\, crystals\, beads\, artwork\, jewelry\, and more! Come join the fun!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly general meeting. Members gather at 7:15 and the meeting will start at 7:30. \nAndy Connally from the Kansas Geological Survey will be giving a talk on Fossils from this region of Kansas. He encourages everyone to bring in fossils from their collection to have them identified regardless of where they got them. Additionally\, if anyone wants to donate their extra fossils\, the KGS is building fossil teaching kits for schools which he will gladly take our extras to use in building up the kits. Andy is a wonderful speaker. Everyone should come\, be sure to bring your fossils!
